Frequently asked questions
Including the one people are too polite to ask first: no, this is not science. The honest answer is below, along with 18 others.
The method
Is numerology scientific?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Numerology is a traditional interpretive system. It has no experimental evidence behind it, no mechanism recognised by physics or statistics, and no predictive record that survives controlled testing. What this site offers is different: a consistent, documented way of turning a naming or timing decision into an explicit set of criteria, so that you compare candidates against the same standard instead of picking on impulse. Some people find that structure useful on its own. Treat the output as one input to a decision you make with commercial judgement, not as a forecast.
Which letter system do you use?
Chaldean by default, because the source material this product is built from uses Chaldean for business and personal names almost without exception. In the Chaldean table, values run 1 to 8 and no letter carries 9. Pythagorean is available as a second, selectable system for anyone working in the Western tradition. The two are never blended.
Why does a name total of 9 exist if no letter is worth 9?
The letter table has no 9, but a total can still reduce to 9. The source material holds 9 apart deliberately and does not assign it to any letter, while accepting 9 as a name total with its own reading.
What is a compound number and why do you show it?
The compound is the two-digit total before it is reduced to a single digit. The source material is emphatic that a 7 arriving from 16 is not the same 7 as one arriving from 25 or 34, so every result here reports the compound alongside the reduced digit, written as compound/digit. Where the source material has no reading for a particular compound, the page says so rather than inventing one.
Do "Pvt Ltd", "LLP" and "Limited" count in a business name?
Not by default. The test in the source material is whether you chose the word or a registrar conferred it. Suffixes granted at registration are stripped; words you picked yourself — Enterprises, Traders, Solutions, Health Care, "and Sons" written out — are counted. A minority of sources count the legal suffix, so the total with the suffix included is shown as a secondary line rather than hidden.
How do you handle "&", dots, and numbers inside a name?
The ampersand symbol is not counted; the word "and" spelled out on the paperwork is. Digits written into a name are counted at face value. Domain extensions such as .com and .in are stripped, so a domain is scored on its second-level label only.
Different numerologists give me different answers. Who is right?
They disagree because the schools genuinely disagree — on whether legal suffixes count, on whether the document name or the name people call you by is authoritative, on whether 33 is a master number, on whether 10 reduces to 1. Where the sources conflict, this site keeps the positions separate and lets you pick one, and it never averages them. An average of two incompatible rules produces a number that belongs to neither school.
Do I have to change my name on legal documents?
The source material says no. It treats a corrected spelling as activated through use — the visiting card, the email address, the signature, the social profiles, the sign outside — rather than through a registrar. One source works only from documents, which means an undocumented change is invisible to its own method; that disagreement is noted where it matters.
Using the site
Do I need an account to calculate?
No. Every calculator runs without signing in. An account saves your calculations, keeps profiles for people and businesses you check often, and holds your reports in one place.
How many names can I check at once?
Anonymous visitors can rank a batch of five candidate names. Signed-in users can rank twenty-five in one pass. The arithmetic is identical either way.
What is in a report that the calculators do not give me?
The calculators answer one question each. A report puts the founder, the name, the industry, the timing, the partners and the business assets into a single document, states where they agree and where they pull against each other, and writes out the reasoning behind each score. It is the difference between six readings and one argument.
Can I share a result?
Yes. Saved calculations get a private permalink you can send to a partner or an advisor. Those links are not indexed by search engines.
Do you offer a personal consultation?
Not at present. The product is the engine and the written reports. Practitioners who consult professionally can use the consultant dashboard to run this engine for their own clients under their own branding.
Payment, data and support
How do payments work?
Indian customers pay through Razorpay in rupees; customers elsewhere pay through Stripe by card. Cosmic Business never sees or stores your card number — the payment page belongs to the processor.
What personal data do you collect?
Only what a calculation needs: names, dates of birth, business details, and an email address if you create an account or order a report. Anonymous calculations are stored against a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself. The privacy policy lists every category and how long each is kept.
Do you sell my data?
No. Personal data is not sold, rented or traded. It is shared only with the processors that make the service work — payment gateways, email delivery, hosting — and only to the extent they need it.
Do you use cookies and advertising?
The site sets a session cookie so forms and sign-in work, and a small preference cookie for your light or dark theme choice. Advertising, where it is shown, is served by Google and its partners, who may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. The privacy policy explains this in full.
How do I get my data deleted?
Email the address on the contact page from the address on your account and ask. Calculations and profiles are removed within thirty days. Records tied to a completed purchase are kept for as long as Indian tax law requires them to be kept.
Something is wrong with a calculation. What do I do?
Send us the exact input you used and what you expected. Every calculator shows its arithmetic, so a disagreement is usually traceable to a specific rule — a stripped suffix, a reduction mode, a letter system — and we would rather fix the rule than argue about the result.
The short version
This is a traditional interpretive system, applied consistently and shown in full. It will not tell you what your business is going to do. It will give you a fixed, documented standard for comparing the options in front of you, and it will show you every step it took to get there. That is the whole offer.
Cosmic Business provides numerology-based guidance for reflection and planning support. It is not financial, legal, medical or investment advice. Always apply your own judgement and consult qualified professionals before making business decisions.
