Delete your Cosmic Business account
How to delete the account you created in the Cosmic Business Android app or on Cosmic Business, what is removed the moment you do, and the one record that is kept.

Cosmic Business is published by Cosmic Business. You can delete your account yourself, from the app or from the website, without writing to anyone. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
1. From the Android app
- Open the Cosmic Business app and sign in if you are not already.
- Open Account.
- Choose Delete account.
- Enter your password and confirm.
The app signs you out on every device and the account is gone before the confirmation screen closes.
2. From the website
- Sign in at Cosmic Business.
- Open Account, then Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Enter your password, type DELETE in the confirmation box, and submit.
The steps are the same whether the account was created on the website or in the app.
3. If you can no longer sign in
If you no longer have the app installed and cannot sign in, ask below, or write to admin@cosmicbusiness.org from the email address on the account. We act on the request within 30 days and confirm by reply. Writing from another address means we have to verify it is you first, which takes longer.
4. What is deleted immediately
The moment the account is deleted, all of the following is removed from our systems:
- Your name, email address, company, phone number and password.
- Every saved business profile, including the founder's and co-founders' names and dates of birth.
- Every saved calculation and its shareable permalink.
- Every report you did not pay for, and the PDF file of every report, paid or not.
- Consultation bookings, newsletter subscription and contact messages sent from your address.
- Every sign-in: the app's tokens, remembered browsers and pending password-reset links.
- If you used the consultant dashboard: your practice branding and logo, your client records, notes and the analyses run for them.
5. What is kept, and for how long
Payment records. If you bought a report, the order is kept because Indian tax and accounting rules require a record of every transaction. Before it is kept it is anonymised: your name, phone number and email address are struck out of it, and what remains is the amount, the currency, the payment status, the payment processor's reference numbers and the dates. The record of a paid report is kept the same way — the founder, the co-founders, the contact details and the document itself removed, the title replaced. Both are retained for eight years from the date of the order and then removed. Neither can be connected to you.
Server logs. Routine access logs hold a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, and are deleted after 90 days.
Nothing else. Generated reports are ordinarily kept for 365 days for you to download; deleting the account removes them at once rather than at the end of that period. If you never bought anything, nothing at all is kept.
6. Deletion is permanent
A deleted account cannot be restored. Reports, profiles and calculations are gone with it, and a report you paid for cannot be re-issued afterwards, so download anything you want to keep first. If you later want to use Cosmic Business again, you create a new account from scratch.
